1. Arriving in the USA
soaking in the freedom
getting stuck in Passport control line for like… forever..
2. Taking photos of everything…
Literally everything, trash can, toilet, stop sign, sky, cars, stairs, coffee
3. First meal in USA
You gonna miss your mother's meals
Be ready for fast food and different tastes
2 months later….
Breakfast: Cereal Lunch: Sandwich Dinner: Some frozen crap
4. One of our missions is to collect 50 state quarters
I still have one missing coin :(
5. Jet lag for a week
6. It’s the first day of work and you don't know what is going on
After 2 weeks....
7. When you get your first paycheck
8. When the friends trying so hard to pronounce our name
9. New friends, so many new friends
or
10. Memorizing people’s name was hard
especially the one that we’ve never seen in our English textbook before (e.g. Jacqueline, Trevor, Mckay, Cameron, Juliana, Dorothy)
11. Our excuse when we don't understand what the say
English is hard, ya know.
12. We tell about our home country in every convos
"Yeah, we have same in my country, Yeah yeah it is better in my country"
13. When people asked us “how is going?”, we be like…
“I’m not going anywhere”
14. 1 yard, 10 feet, 3 ounces , 2 pounds, and 74 Fahrenheit are just confusing
15. Smile and Nod = We don’t understand what you just said
and we hope that was not a question
16. And all the slangs… YOLO SWAG
Then we discovered Urban Dictionary
17. Homesickness
we miss everything from our home, parents, siblings, third cousin, pets, trees, to water
18. Trying to Skype home, but no one is online because it is 3am in our home country
19. Last month of exchange program
we are so excited to go home
20. And that’s when we forget to buy gifts for our family and friends
it is so expensive tho.. 5 bucks for keychain
21. Travelling in USA..
22. It Is Hard to Say Good Bye
